Our story

“We were attending a conference about SPD.  A parent support group from another state was telling their story of creating a community place where kids had access to therapeutic play and equipment, and where families could connect.  One of us stood up and said ‘We need this!’”
-Colleen Herst, Executive Director, Austin SPD Alliance

Austin SPD Alliance meets the needs of local families living with sensory processing disorder (SPD).

History:

Established in 2011, Austin SPD Alliance was first born as a parent organization to women seeking answers and tools for their SPD children.

Created to answer the call of sensory issues, Austin SPD Alliance has been meeting the needs of local families living with sensory process disorder by offering monthly support groups, free therapeutic services, a book class, as well as an education initiative aimed at providing free accredited training to preschool teachers.
